Hester Knibbe (Harderwijk, 1946) poet. Made her debut with Tussen Gebaren en Woorden in 1982. Her work has been awarded with inter alia the Herman Gorter Prize, the A. Roland Holst Prize and the VSB Poetry Prize 2015. From 2008 to 2010 she headed the PEN Center of the Netherlands.
Daan Cartens (Delft, 1958) writer, editor, poet; curator of the Letterkundig Museum in The Hague. Made his debut with Duel in 1983.
Breyten Breytenbach (1939, Bonnievale, South Africa). Poet and writer of prose. Debut novel De ware bekentenissen van een witte terrorist (1984). Among others honored with the De Hans Berghuisstok voor PoŽzie and the Hertzog-prize for poetry 2008. Breytenbach resides alternately in Europe, South Africa an de USA and is connected to several universities.
Peter de Haan (Den Helder, 1946) studied macroeconomics and development economics at Amsterdam University. He worked at the United Nations Development Programme and the Dutch funding agency OxfamNovib. For the Netherlands’ Ministry for Development Cooperation he held senior positions at various Dutch Embassies. De Haan has written four books on development economics and economic history.
